Bio
Experimental outing of Sacramento-based guitarist Blake William. The medium for the music often changes, as do the band members. Its not "random guests" so much as Blake building a roster of friends that he works well with, and calling them as he has a need for them. The music has been known to fall anywhere from delicate ambient music to abrasive noise-rock.

The majority of live performances are played with a decaying tape loop system. The artist(s) build a pillar of sound that gradually morphs from gentle to paranoid. In special cases, the tape machines are disregarded for freeform improvisation.

So far, Superzapper Recharge has played both noise and jazz showcases around Sacramento, rock shows, Sacramento Sound Art Festival, released an EP of looped music titled "1/8" and a collaborative record with Nullwerk. We've meditated some audiences and deafened others.

Update: all solo performances of Blake William are now being done under my own name. I'm not fond of using a band name when a band doesn't exist. The solo ambient pieces recorded are still represented through this profile however, and performance dates will be on the calendar.

If you want to book Blake William/Superzapper Recharge, I'll seriously play ANYWHERE within 100 miles. I'll play in your living room if there'll be at least 8 people.

First of all, NOISEFEST THIS FRIDAY! Andrew and I will be doing a louder, more edgy and distorted tape loop performance, although for the most part it will remain musical. We're scheduled to go on at 7:20, but we'll probably start at 7:15 because that's how we are. I'm working on an ambient record that I will release under the my own name (Blake William). This will include finalized versions of Rain Good, Mirror Bad and The Quiet Girl which appear as demos here. I'm...
Oakland based ambient artist Nullwerk and I have recorded a collaborative untitled release. The album is one 39 minute long track in 2 movements, the first half having a foundation set by one of my tape loops, the second half having a foundation set by one of Nullwerk's soundscapes. Its on my Fuzz player, give it a listen. At shows, the NW+SR disc and 1/8 will be $3 each, $5 for both. Mail order is coming soon and will be a bit more to consider packing and shipping. In other news, I gave...
